Job summary

Othrys Aviation is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to contribute to design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of aircraft and related systems. The role requires strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to collaborate across design, manufacturing, quality, testing, and regulatory teams.

You will perform analyses in aerodynamics, structures, and materials, review 3D models and drawings, and support certification activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or related field.
• 3-7 years of aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience with aerospace design and analysis tools (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS, NASTRAN, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with certification and regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Support conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of aircraft, airframes, components, and aerospace systems.
• Perform calculations and analyses related to aerodynamics, structures, loads, performance, weight, and materials.
• Develop and review 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Conduct structural, stress, fatigue, vibration, and CFD analyses as required.
• Assist integration of propulsion, avionics, electrical, and flight-control systems.
• Translate requirements into manufacturable solutions and work with manufacturing teams.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Aerospace Engineer to contribute to the design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of aircraft and related systems.

The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, manufacturing, quality, testing, supply chain, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of aircraft, airframes, components, and aerospace systems.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses related to aerodynamics, aircraft structures, loads, stability, performance, weight, and material selection.
• Develop and review 3D models, engineering drawings, assemblies, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Conduct or support structural, stress, fatigue, vibration, thermal, CFD, and finite element analyses, depending on project requirements.
• Assist in the integration of propulsion, avionics, electrical, mechanical, flight-control, and other aircraft systems.
• Translate design requirements into manufacturable engineering solutions.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues, design deviations, and non-conformities.
• Participate in prototype development, ground testing, flight testing, validation, and verification activities.
• Prepare test plans, procedures, technical reports, compliance documents, and engineering change records.
• Investigate design or test failures, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable aviation regulations, airworthiness requirements, quality standards, and internal engineering processes.
• Support certification activities and coordinate the preparation of technical evidence for regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate aerospace components, materials, technical specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve aircraft performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, weight, cost, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate configuration control and documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Stay updated on developments in aerospace technology, aircraft manufacturing, materials, propulsion, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 37 years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering, aircraft design, aviation manufacturing, defence, UAVs, or a related engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, aerodynamics, aircraft structures, materials, propulsion, flight mechanics, or aircraft systems.
• Experience with engineering design and analysis tools such as CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS, NASTRAN, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, technical specifications, test data, and manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with aircraft development, testing, verification, validation, and configuration-management processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Good technical documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, safety-critical engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Aircraft structural design and stress analysis
• Aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics
• Flight mechanics, stability, and control
• Propulsion-system integration
• Avionics or aircraft-system integration
• Composite-material design and manufacturing
• Aircraft performance and weight estimation
• Ground testing or flight testing
• Airworthiness and certification
• Knowledge of aviation standards and regulatory frameworks issued by DGCA, FAA, EASA, or equivalent authorities.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality and development standards such as AS9100, DO-160, ARP4754A, or other applicable standards.
• Experience working with prototype aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, light aircraft, or new aircraft-development programmes.
• Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management and configuration-control systems.
