Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace Development & Maintenance
Experience: 3-8 Years
JobId: LE016
Who are we looking for?
A detail-driven Mechanical Engineer with proven experience across aerospace, defence, or industrial equipment handling, capable of interpreting complex technical documentation, ensuring compliance and traceability, and coordinating seamlessly with OEMs, suppliers, engineering, QA, logistics, and customs for end‑to‑end delivery readiness. The role blends engineering rigor with operational execution, covering documentation control, COC/CoC handling, import/export compliance support, inventory governance, and form‑fit‑function assurance for engines, spares, tools, and ground support equipment. Candidates should be comfortable communicating with international suppliers, maintaining precise records, and sustaining audit‑ready documentation at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, part lists, BOMs/BOQs for engine modules, storage containers, delivery kits, and accessories, ensuring correct revisions and configuration control.
- Maintain end‑to‑end technical records for imported and indigenous items, including inspection data, serial/lot traceability, and change history.
- Prepare, review, and archive Certificates of Conformance/Conformity (COC/CoC), inspection reports, and compliance attestations per aviation and trade requirements.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for RFQs, technical clarifications, pre‑dispatch inspections, and documentation completeness prior to shipment.
- Verify supplier documentation packages for conformance against specifications, standards, and agreed purchase requirements before acceptance.
- Support vendor evaluation inputs focused on documentation quality, delivery performance, and compliance reliability.
- Liaise with design/engineering and QA to validate form‑fit‑function compatibility of supplied equipment and propose mitigations for deviations.
- Support nonconformance review, corrective actions, and updates to specs or kits in alignment with quality procedures.
- Assist in preparing technical instructions and acceptance criteria for incoming inspection and functional checks.
- Prepare item specifications, HS‑code ready descriptions, and compliance paperwork to support logistics, import, and customs clearance.
- Ensure COC/CoC, packing lists, and technical attestations are complete and consistent with shipment documentation to avoid clearance delays.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to align delivery timelines with inspection and project needs.
- Maintain structured inventory records for spares, tools, fixtures, and engine accessories with location, condition, and calibration/expiry tracking where applicable.
- Implement controlled storage, labeling, and retrieval for kits and documentation to remain audit‑ready.
- Monitor consumption trends and reorder points aligned to project schedules and lead times.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Production Engineering.
- 3–8 years in aerospace, defence, or industrial equipment handling with exposure to documentation, QA, and supply coordination.
- Understanding of aviation/defence logistics, maintenance spares, or ground support equipment and their documentation needs.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP tools for BOMs, inventory, and documentation workflows.
- Experience with OEM documentation, COC/CoC handling, and import/export compliance processes.
- Ability to interpret technical datasheets, drawings, and specifications; familiarity with basic QA/QC checks and acceptance criteria.
- Comfort with creating and maintaining specifications, traceability matrices, and inspection records.
Professional and Soft Skills
- Clear written and verbal communication with international suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
- Strong organization, documentation discipline, and attention to detail under time‑sensitive conditions.
