Technical Projects Manager
Job Summary
The Technical Projects Manager is responsible for managing projects focused on facility/construction projects. In addition to facility/construction projects, you will work on infrastructure related projects with the Server, Network and Security teams.
Job Duties
- Assists with vendor selection and management for IT related contractors (Low Voltage, Audio Visual, Physical Security, Sound masking, etc)
- Collaborates with engineers, architects and construction personnel
- Collaborates with internal IT for construction requirements and tracking (space, power, cooling, hardware and telecommunications).
- Creates knowledgebase documentation as needed
- Problem-solves to address delays, emergencies or other issues
- Complies with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements
- Explains contract and technical matters in a clear manner
- Prepares budgets, cost estimates, schedules and timelines for assigned projects
- Provides project-based leadership for the justification, planning, implementation, and quality assurance testing of assigned projects
- Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes project progress
- Builds and maintains constructive working relationships with project team members, vendors, and other departments involved with assigned projects
- Develops scope documents, statements of work, and other documentation supporting the justification for assigned project
- Leads and directs the work of project teams to ensure project efforts are controlled and completed on a timely basis
- Works with appropriate subject matter experts, establishes resource plans, expected level of effort and duration to complete tasks associated with assigned projects
- Follows BDO Project Management Offices methodologies
- Adheres to Firm and department policies and procedures
- Manages and administers other areas, including but not limited to telecommunications ordering and billing functions as needed
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directs others as part of the project management process, as needed, but does not have any direct reports
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education
- BE/Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engg
Experience
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in project management, required
- Prior construction management experience, preferred
- Prior internship experience in the construction industry, preferred
- Experience working in a professional services environment, preferred
License/Certifications
- Professional in Project Management (PPM), preferred
Software
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required
- Experience with project planning applications, preferred
- Experience with Service Now PPM modules, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Visio design/layer creation, preferred
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, preferred
Language
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Able to work after standard business hours and travel (approximately 25%)
- Exceptional time management skills, ability to estimate work effort and time needed for various construction jobs
- Excellent technical skills and understanding of construction methods, contracts and blueprints
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Able to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details
