Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in India seeks an experienced Active Directory Administrator to manage and troubleshoot AD environments, including trusts, DNS, and group policy. The role covers on-premises and Azure AD/O365 integration, with automation via PowerShell and ongoing domain security monitoring.

The ideal candidate will handle WSUS, AD replication topology, and OS layer concerns while delivering strong customer service to colleagues and clients alike.

Qualifications

• Experience with Active Directory domain trusts and DNS configurations.
• Hands-on experience with AD 2008/2012 administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Office 365 environments is desirable.
• PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration tasks.
• Familiarity with Group Policy management and security configurations.
• Understanding of DFS/DFSR technologies and WSUS administration.
• Ability to monitor, report on domain reliability and security, and provide customer service.

Responsibilities

• Well versed in creating and troubleshooting AD domain trusts and directory infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and administer AD environments including FSMO roles and replication topology.
• Manage and troubleshoot AD 2008/2012 in on-premises and cloud-augmented setups (Azure AD/O365).
• Implement and maintain DNS configurations and WSUS deployments for Windows servers.
• Create and manage GPOs with precedence, enforcement, and blocking as required.
• Develop simple to advanced PowerShell scripts for automation and reporting.
• Monitor domain reliability, security, and events; provide customer service to clients and teammates.

Job description

• 1. Well Versed with Active Directory domain trusts creation and troubleshooting.
• 2. Creation and management of directory infrastructure : Includes FSMO roles, trusts, Kerberos, KDCs, replication topology, etc.
• 3. Hands on experience to install, configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, administer and resolve problems with Microsoft Active Directory 2008 and 2012.
• 4. Experience in Azure Active Directory and O365.
• 6. Operations and maintenance activities for multiple networks, server maintenance, and administrative tasks.
• 7. Knowledge of active directory concepts and configuration-security groups, inherited rights, delegation, OU structure, object types and attributes.
• 8. Highly desired ability to create and manage Group Policies including GPO precedence, enforcement and blocking.
• 9. Should be able to build simple-complex scripts in PowerShell (v3.0 – v5.0)
• 10. Monitor and reporting associated with the reliability and security of the domain.
• 11. Have a thorough understanding of DNS configurations and troubleshooting.
• 12. Understanding of configuring & troubleshooting Windows server update services (WSUS)
• 13. Have a general understanding of how Active Directory permissions delegation works as well permission inheritance within Active Directory.
• 14. Knowledge of DFS/DFSR technologies.
• 15. Have a general understanding of OS layer infrastructure requirements and troubleshooting such as patching, KMS activation, RDP licensing, time keeping for Microsoft clients.
