About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Head to manage and oversee the complete accounting and finance function of the organization. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for account finalization, statutory compliance, taxation, team management, and financial reporting. The candidate will work closely with senior management and play a key role in financial planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finalization
- Finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in a timely manner
- Prepare Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, and Cash Flow Statements
- Ensure timely closing of books of accounts
- Supervise bank reconciliations, ledger scrutiny, and general accounting operations
- Monitor accounting entries, provisions, and adjustments
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements
- Review and file statutory returns within prescribed timelines
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory, tax, internal, and GST audits
- Handle tax assessments, notices, and queries in coordination with consultants
- Ensure ROC and other regulatory compliances, as applicable
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounts team
- Allocate work responsibilities and review team output for accuracy
- Ensure smooth workflow and adherence to timelines
- Conduct periodic reviews and provide training and guidance to team members
MIS, Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Prepare and present MIS reports, variance analysis, and financial summaries
- Support management in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Provide insights and analysis to support business decisions
- Monitor costs, expenses, and profitability
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Commerce / Finance
- CA Inter / MBA (Finance) preferred
- 813 years of relevant experience in core accounting and finance roles
- Strong knowledge of account finalization, taxation, and statutory compliance
- Hands-on experience with Tally, Excel, and ERP/accounting software
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
