Head of Accounting is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s overall accounting and financial reporting functions while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial records. This role oversees the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, manages the accounting team, and ensures adherence to applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements. The Head of Accounting plays a critical role in maintaining strong internal controls, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring that financial operations support the organization’s strategic objectives. The position is responsible for supervising all aspects of accounting, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, cash flow management, budgeting, financial analysis, and reconciliations. The Head of Accounting works closely with senior management to provide financial insights, support business planning, improve operational efficiency, and facilitate informed decision-making through comprehensive financial reporting and analysis. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act requirements, and other applicable laws. The Head of Accounting coordinates internal and external audits, manages relationships with auditors, banks, tax authorities, and financial institutions, and ensures timely completion of audit and compliance activities.
