Job summary

Anika Industries in Mumbai seeks an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead the accounting function, strengthen governance, and build scalable systems in preparation for future IPO readiness. The Head – Accounts will oversee historical clean-up, monthly closures, and robust financial reporting across entities.

You will drive governance, audit readiness, and statutory compliance while implementing process improvements and ERP-driven automation in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Historical Financial Clean-up & Book Closure: review and streamline historical financial records, resolve gaps and reconcile balances across entities, ensure audit-ready documentation.
• Financial Reporting & Monthly Closure: drive timely closings, ensure accuracy of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, MIS reports, and reduce closing timelines.
• IPO Readiness & Financial Governance: drive timely monthly/ quarterly/ annual closures, ensure accuracy of financials and governance for IPO readiness.
• Audit Management: lead statutory, internal, tax, and due diligence audits; resolve observations and improve documentation standards.
• Compliance Management: ensure compliance with Companies Act, GST, TDS, income tax, ROC filings and coordinate with external consultants and regulators.
• Process Improvement & Automation: improve workflows, strengthen ERP controls, automate reconciliations and reporting; build scalable finance systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant to lead the accounting function and strengthen financial discipline across the organization. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on improving financial accuracy, strengthening governance, building scalable accounting systems, and preparing the organization for future IPO readiness.

The ideal candidate should be hands-on, process-oriented, and comfortable managing accounting complexities in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.

Historical Financial Clean-up & Book Closure

• Review and streamline historical financial records across business entities
• Identify and resolve accounting gaps, unreconciled balances, legacy issues, and incorrect entries
• Lead clean-up and reconciliation of:
• Vendor balances
• Customer balances
• Advances and deposits
• Inter-company accounts
• Fixed assets
• Inventory accounting (where applicable)
• Revenue recognition issues
• GST and TDS reconciliations
• Ensure prior years books are accurate, audit-ready, and well-supported with documentation

Financial Reporting & Monthly Closure

• Drive timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of:
• Profit & Loss Statements
• Balance Sheet
• Cash Flow Statements
• MIS and management reporting
• Reduce month-end closing timelines through process improvements
• Maintain robust accounting schedules and supporting documentation

IPO Readiness & Financial Governance

• Drive timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of:Profit & Loss Statements
• Balance Sheet
• Cash Flow Statements
• MIS and management reporting
• Reduce month-end closing timelines through process improvements
• Maintain robust accounting schedules and support documentation

Audit Management

• Lead and manage:
• Statutory audits

• Ensure timely resolution of audit observations and queries
• Improve audit preparedness and documentation standards

Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with:

• TDS requirements

• Other applicable statutory compliances
• Coordinate effectively with external consultants, auditors, and regulatory stakeholders

Process Improvement & Automation

• Improve accounting workflows and financial processes
• Strengthen ERP controls and system discipline
• Drive automation in reconciliations, reporting, and accounting operations
• Reduce dependency on manual processes
• Build scalable finance systems to support future business growth

Qualifications & Experience:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (Mandatory)
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Strong expertise in:

• Experience in startup or high-growth environments preferred
• Exposure to IPO preparation or listed-company reporting preferred

• Ability to work independently and drive execution in a dynamic environment
