The role combines hands-on accounting ownership with process improvement, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. You will also help establish accounting processes for new products and initiatives while identifying opportunities to make existing processes more efficient. As a people leader, you’ll mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities
  • Own key areas of the month-end close process, including selected expenses, revenue, payroll, and P&L activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries and maintain high-quality supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving aged or unreconciled items.
  • Investigate current and historical accounting issues across different transaction types and develop appropriate resolutions.
  • Establish and implement accounting processes for new products, business initiatives, and evolving financial activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows, and drive improvements through implementation.
  • Partner with external auditors to support timely reviews, audits, and requests for financial information.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and internal stakeholders to provide ad hoc analysis and resolve complex accounting questions.
  • Educate colleagues on accounting practices, financial implications, and relevant policies.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting professionals, serving as a resource for technical questions and professional development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of professional accounting experience, gained in an accounting firm or in-house corporate environment.
  • At least 1 year of people-management or team-leadership experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience applying accounting principles to complex business activities.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large datasets and functions such as SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, and VLOOKUP.
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus; familiarity with SQL is also advantageous.
  • Experience working in a publicly traded company is preferred.
  • Experience in financial technology, mortgage banking, lending, or another financial services environment is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and develop practical solutions.
  • A proactive mindset and a strong interest in challenging existing processes and continuously improving how accounting work is performed.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a dynamic business environment with frequent changes and evolving priorities.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market conditions.
  • Fully remote work arrangement from India.
  • Opportunity to work within a technology-driven financial services environment at significant scale.
  • Exposure to complex U.S. GAAP accounting, financial products, and business initiatives.
  • Meaningful ownership over financial reporting, P&L impact, and accounting process improvements.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership and mentoring opportunities within the accounting organization.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the evolution of an AI-enabled approach to financial services and business operations.
