Job summary

Couchbase in Bangalore is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support daily finance operations and prepare periodic financial reports in line with US GAAP. The role involves general ledger activity, journals, AP invoicing, and close processes, with NetSuite experience preferred.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in accounting, strong communication, and attention to detail. Office-based role with collaboration across global finance teams and VAT/tax support for international subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Chartered Accountant preferable.
• 4+ years in an accounting role.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Involved in the day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Involved in General Accounting, including reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, analysis and reporting.
• Coordinate all accounting activities with the General Ledger (journal entries, prepaid, fixed assets, inter-company, cash and bank).
• Manage Accounts Payable invoicing and employee claims.
• Assist in timely accounting close (monthly and quarterly).
• Support in posting entries in NetSuite.
• Maintain auditable accounting records in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assist in preparation of audit PBCs.
• Support data collating for VAT and Tax filings for International Subsidiaries.
• Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements; follow corporate policies.
• Support Senior Accounting Manager on projects and ad hoc tasks.
• Coordinate with US Finance teams and other departments for accurate records.

Job Title: Accounting Analyst

Responsibilities

The Accounting Analyst will be involved in the accounting operations of the company, assisting in periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

• Involved in the day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Involved in General Accounting, which includes reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, analysis and reporting.
• To co-ordinate all accounting activities associated with the General Ledger, particularly journal entries, prepaid, fixed assets, inter-company, cash and bank.
• Manage Accounts Payable invoicing and employee claims.
• Help with the timely and accurate execution of accounting close (monthly and quarterly)
• Support in posting entries in NetSuite.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure complete accounting records for all transactions with adequate support, in auditable form, and in accordance with US GAAP
• Assistance in preparation of audit PBCs in a timely manner.
• Support in collating data for local VAT and Tax filings for the International Subsidiaries.
• Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and suggest process improvements.Follow Corporate policies and procedures.
• Support the Senior Accounting Manager on projects and ad hoc tasks.
• Co-ordinate with US Finance teams and other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.

Desired Skills and Experience

The position is based in Bangalore, and the selected candidate will be expected to work from the office three days a week.
