Job summary

Couchbase in Bangalore is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support day-to-day finance operations, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and close processes.

The role requires US GAAP knowledge, NetSuite experience, and strong communication. The selected candidate will work from the office three days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Chartered Accountant preferable.
• 4+ years in accounting.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and ERP systems like NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Involved in day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Handle General Ledger activities, journal entries, prepaid, fixed assets, inter-company and cash/bank.
• Manage Accounts Payable invoicing and employee claims.
• Support month/quarter/year-end close and audit readiness.
• Assist with local VAT and tax filings for international subsidiaries.
• Collaborate with US Finance teams on records and accounting support.

Accounting Analyst

Responsibilities

• Involved in the day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Involved in General Accounting, which includes reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, analysis and reporting.
• To co‑ordinate all accounting activities associated with the General Ledger, particularly journal entries, prepaid, fixed assets, inter‑company, cash and bank.
• Manage Accounts Payable invoicing and employee claims.
• Help with the timely and accurate execution of accounting close (monthly and quarterly).
• Support in posting entries in NetSuite.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure complete accounting records for all transactions with adequate support, in auditable form, and in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assistance in preparation of audit PBCs in a timely manner.
• Support in collating data for local VAT and Tax filings for the International Subsidiaries.
• Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and suggest process improvements.
• Follow Corporate policies and procedures.
• Support the Senior Accounting Manager on projects and ad hoc tasks.
• Co‑coordinate with US Finance teams and other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.

The position is based in Bangalore, and the selected candidate will be expected to work from the office three days a week.

• Chartered Accountant preferable

• Knowledge of USGAAP
• Experience with Netsuite or similar ERP system
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to prioritize and function with minimal supervision
