Job summary

Vijya Fintech is seeking an Accountant with 3-4 years of accounting and finance experience to join our team. The candidate should have strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, GST, TDS, and proficient MS Office.

Preference will be given to candidates with SaaS/Marketplace/FinTech experience, especially in transaction-based accounting, reconciliations, commissions, payouts, or revenue-sharing models. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and auditors.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good understanding of Indian accounting practices, GST, TDS, and basic statutory compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills – Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF formulas, data validation, conditional formatting, data cleaning, and reconciliation of large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting activities including payables/receivables, journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards and statutory requirements.
• Perform reconciliations of customer, vendor, bank, marketplace, and transaction-level data.
• Prepare commission, revenue-sharing, payout, and settlement calculations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and reporting.
• Prepare MIS reports and financial schedules for management.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with 34 years of experience in accounting and finance. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and accounting practices, excellent communication skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Experience in a SaaS, Marketplace, FinTech, or technology-driven business environment will be preferred, particularly candidates who have worked with transaction-based accounting, reconciliations, commissions, payouts, or revenue-sharing models.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain accounting records in accordance with applicable Indian Accounting Standards and statutory requirements.
• Perform reconciliations of customer, vendor, bank, marketplace, and transaction-level data.
• Prepare and verify commission, revenue-sharing, payout, and settlement calculations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners/vendors to resolve accounting and reconciliation discrepancies.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and reporting.
• Prepare MIS reports and financial schedules as required by management.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate the underlying data, and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain proper documentation and supporting records for accounting transactions.
• Support audits and provide required information and documentation to auditors.
• Work closely with Operations, Business, and other teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance.
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good understanding of Indian accounting practices, GST, TDS, and basic statutory compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills – Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF formulas, data validation, conditional formatting, data cleaning, and reconciliation of large datasets.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Good understanding of accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of financial data.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and meet deadlines.
