Job summary

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are active investor managing multiple individual and investment company portfolios across the Indian equity markets. Our team executes over 50 trades daily, including Equity Cash, Futures, and Options (F&O). We are looking for a highly detail-oriented accountant with hands-on experience in capital market accounting who understands derivatives, trading operations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Maintain books of accounts for multiple individual and company entities using Tally Prime.
• Record all accounting entries, journal vouchers, expenses, receipts, payments, and ledger reconciliations.
• Should have basic idea about direct taxes. Candidate should be able to prepare and maintain accurate Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss statements, and financial reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts, broker ledgers, and demat accounts on a regular basis.
• Prepare daily trade entries in Microsoft Excel and Tally for Equity, Futures, and Options transactions.
• Maintain a daily End-of-Day (EOD) trade report including script name, buy/sell quantity, execution price, brokerage, charges, and realized/unrealized P&L.
• Understand and account for Futures & Options (F&O) trades, including expiry settlements, premiums, mark-to-market (MTM), and brokerage charges.
• Reconcile broker contract notes with internal trade records and identify discrepancies.
• Classify transactions for Short-Term Capital Gains (STCG) and Long-Term Capital Gains (LTCG).
• Track corporate actions such as dividends, bonuses, stock splits, and rights issues.
• Coordinate with Chartered Accountants during audits and tax assessments.
• MIS & Reporting
• Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets for each entity.
• Maintain portfolio performance reports, cost basis, XIRR, and investment summaries in Excel.
• Generate customized reports including broker-wise brokerage analysis, F&O P&L, segment-wise performance, and other management reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Higher Secondary, B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter, or equivalent qualification.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a trading firm, broking house, proprietary trading desk, family office, or investment company.
• Strong knowledge of Tally Prime.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, conditional formatting, and basic automation.
• Good understanding of Indian stock market operations, including:
• Equity Cash Market
• Futures & Options (F&O)
• NSE/BSE trading and settlements
• Broker contract notes
• Demat accounts (CDSL/NSDL)
• Broker ledger reconciliation
• Working knowledge of capital gains taxation, STCG/LTCG, STT, exchange charges, SEBI regulations, and derivatives accounting.
