About the role:
The Academic Associate (AA) Programme at Nayanta University is designed to provide academic and administrative support to our teaching faculty while offering early-career academics a platform to strengthen their expertise and professional experience.
As an academic associate, you will have the opportunity to:
- receive close mentorship from accomplished faculty, both from India and abroad.
- work closely with teaching faculty to support course design, administration, facilitation, and assessment.
- lead discussion sessions, conduct tutorials/remedial classes, and host office hours, supporting and engaging students beyond the classroom.
- gain hands-on exposure to contemporary university teaching and academic administration.
- work collaboratively to create intellectually engaging classrooms that encourage critical thinking, reflection, and application of knowledge.
Academic Associates will be appointed on a contractual basis, with a preferred commitment of 10 months. However, applications for a single term (3 months) will also be considered. We are providing competitive compensation, commensurate with experience and industry standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the faculty in preparation of class material, such as .ppt slides, pre-readings, in-class assignments, projects, etc.
- Upload all course material on the institute's LMS and manage the course module.
- Assist students and faculty with resolving LMS-related queries.
- Evaluate students 27 class participation, including recording attendance, as required by the faculty.
- Assist the faculty with assessments and evaluations.
- Release marks to students post faculty approval and conduct review sessions.
- Act as a liaison between the students and the faculty, as well as between the other departments, for all course-related queries and communication.
- Conduct discussion sessions, tutorials,and remedial classes with students in consultation with faculty and as per the student requirements.
- Host regular office hours with students. In the case of visiting faculty, the faculty associate must ensure students engage with the course material when active classes are not scheduled.
- Address all student queries that arise when the visiting faculty is not on campus.
- Assist the Office of Academics in conducting course feedback at the end of the course.
- Design and deliver discussion sessions, seminars, and workshops.
- In consultation with the course faculty, design and deliver a refresher course on programming and coding.
- Provide administrative assistance to expert committee members who will work on the development of the computer science major curriculum.
