Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP consultant to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver robust ABAP solutions. The role covers RICEF development, integrations, forms, and ongoing support in a global, multi-time-zone delivery setup.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of SAP ABAP in-depth experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with CDS, AMDP, OData, and RAP on S/4HANA. Full-time, on-site in Bangalore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Advanced ABAP, OO ABAP, modern ABAP syntax.
• BDC and LSMW experience.
• CDS views, AMDP, OData, and RAP experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to work with global teams.
• 7+ years of SAP ABAP experience.
• Location: Bangalore, India.

Core Responsibilities

• Requirement Translation: Analyze functional specifications, map business requirements to SAP solutions, and design technical specifications.
• RICEF Development: Develop, customize, and maintain custom ABAP programs (ALV reports, Interactive Reports, and Module Pool).
• Enhancements & Interfaces: Build integrations using BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, and Web Services. Enhance SAP standard functions via BADIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Spots.
• Forms & Outputs: Design and modify SAP Scripts, SmartForms, and Adobe Forms.
• Support & Maintenance: Debug applications, perform root cause analysis, fix code defects, and optimize system performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech/MCA) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Core Languages: Advanced ABAP, Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP), and modern ABAP syntax.
• Data Migration: Hands-on experience with BDC (Batch Data Communication) and LSMW.
• S/4HANA Readiness: TCS modernization standards strongly prefer experience in modern technologies like Core Data Services (CDS) views, ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), OData services, and RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming).
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical skills, strong verbal/written communication, and a willingness to work collaboratively in global, multi-time-zone delivery teams.
