Job summary

Speed Global in Pune, Maharashtra, India, is seeking a Mechanical/Automotive Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to create and maintain 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using CREO for engine components and assemblies.

You will develop specifications, drawings, and design documentation in GD&T compliance and manage CAD data in Windchill PLM. Involvement in ECR/ECO and change management will be expected, along with cross-functional collaboration and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for engine components and assemblies using CREO.
• Develop and maintain product specifications, engineering drawings, and design documentation in compliance with GD&T standards.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness of engineering models and drawings before release.
• Manage CAD data and product structures within Windchill PLM systems.
• Process ECRs/ECOs and support Product Change Management activities.
• Perform drawing updates, design revisions, and configuration management as per project requirements.
• Adhere to engineering processes, standards, and applicable design norms.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, service, and product engineering teams to resolve design issues.
• Participate in design reviews and Drawing Quality Reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Support root cause analysis and investigations related to product/design issues.
• Contribute to developing and maintaining engineering standards and guidelines.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned engineering work requests and documentation deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, modify, and maintain 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for engine components and assemblies using CREO.
• Develop and maintain product specifications, engineering drawings, and design documentation in compliance with GD&T standards.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness of engineering models and drawings before release.
• Manage CAD data and product structures within Windchill PLM systems.
• Process Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and support Product Change Management activities.
• Perform drawing updates, design revisions, and configuration management activities as per project requirements.
• Adhere to company engineering processes, industry standards, and applicable national/international design standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, service, and product engineering teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Participate in design reviews and Drawing Quality Reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Support root cause analysis and technical investigations related to product and design issues.

Experience and Skills Required:

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Engine Support, or Technical Troubleshooting.
• Experience working with engine components, powertrain systems, or industrial products is preferred.
• Exposure to engineering change management and product lifecycle management processes.
• Proficiency in PTC CREO (latest version) for 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation.
• Hands-on experience with Windchill PLM and Product Change Management processes.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards.
• Ability to create, review, and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, materials, and design fundamentals.
• Knowledge of engine systems and component functionality will be an added advantage.
