Job summary

Extreme Networks India Private Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Packet Forwarding developer with 8–14 years of experience for Bengaluru operations. The role focuses on data plane forwarding across L2/L3, VXLAN and related technologies, with hands-on BCM XGS/DNX chipset work and strong Linux/embedded software knowledge.

The ideal candidate has excellent programming skills in C and exposure to Go and microservices, with ability to work in a multi-site project environment and deliver end-to-end

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of networking data plane forwarding concepts (L2, L3, VXLAN, MCT, ACL, QOS).
• Hands-on experience with BCM XGS & DNX chipsets (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of routing algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with Linux and embedded software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver packet forwarding components/modules end-to-end.
• Troubleshoot memory leaks and performance bottlenecks across multi-site projects.

Job Description

What you will do (Job Specific Details on the nature of the job and responsibilities). We are seeking a highly skilled Packet Forwarding developer with a minimum of 8-14 years track record of relevant work experience.

• Strong understanding of networking data plane forwarding concepts in the following areas - L2, L3, VXLAN, MCT, ACL, QOS
• Hands on experience of programming BCM based XGS & DNX family of chipsets is prefferable.
• Strong understanding of routing algorithms, data structures.
• Strong understanding of control plane networking concepts
• In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and embedded software development
• Excellent programming knowledge in C
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exposure to GO and microservices architecture.
• Experience in trouble shooting & debugging memory leaks, performance bottlenecks -
• Experience working with multi-site project teams.
• Ability to learn on the job and ready to take up challenges.
• Should be able to implement and handle the complete delivery of the component/modules owned
• Ability to be productive in flexible and dynamic work environments.
