Job summary

Cipla Ltd. in Mumbai seeks a 4IR COE Manager to lead digital transformation across manufacturing. Based at Lower Parel, you will identify ROI-driven use cases, define roadmaps, and establish data transfer and governance for advanced analytics initiatives.

The role demands 5+ years in machine automation and IoT, deep knowledge of AI/ML, cloud, and robotics, plus hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA and MES. You will collaborate with the Digital Centre of Excellence to deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in machine automation and IoT projects within pharma or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of 4IR technologies including AI/ML, robotics, cloud, big data, and AR/VR.
• Experience with shopfloor automation and PLC, SCADA-DCS, MES systems.
• Familiarity with data transfer/storage strategies and ROI-focused digital initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential manufacturing use cases and assess ROI and user needs.
• Create a roadmap for implementing 4IR initiatives and governance.
• Define data transfer and storage strategies; prepare BRD and solution docs with vendors.
• Collaborate with Digital Centre of Excellence and site leadership to track progress and impact.
• Identify vendors and support IT security assessments for DAA solutions.
• Deploy and track DAA use cases like OEE, predictive maintenance, yield improvements.

We are hiring 4IR COE Manager in Cipla Ltd. based at Mumbai.

Designation: Manager

Location: Lower Parel

JD:

Digital Transformation Strategy -

• Identify potential use cases in manufacturing function and check feasibility wrt ROI, Problem complexity & User needs.
• Discuss and finalize initiatives need to be taken under digital 4IR implementations.
• Create a roadmap for implementation of identified initiatives.
• Defining/Recommending a ground-up data transfer and storing strategy.
• Defining RACI matrix for digital initiatives implementation.

Digital Initiatives Implementation -

• Discussion with stakeholders (Site Head/Unit Head/CFTs) to understand pain points of manufacturing process.
• Create a business case consisting of actual problem statement, current issue due to problem statement, quantification of issue, defining impact KPIs for solution, ROI matrix preparation & calculation.
• Create Business requirement document (BRD) to understand clear Scope, Deliverables & get prepared Solution document with help of vendor/developer for Cipla team.

Digital CoE: Governance and Impact analysis -

• Collaborate with Digital Centre of Excellence team:

- To implement new solutions at ground level.

- To understand observations from actual users.

- Strengthening solutions based on feedback and learnings.

• Setting up reviews for Central Manufacturing Head with site leadership to showcase progress/impact/challenges/achievements of digital initiatives.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management -

• Identifying vendors for the Digital initiatives.
• Collaborating and supporting IT for Security assessment of all DAA solutions before implementation.

4IR: DAA (Digital Advanced Analytics) Use cases -

• Deploy & track DAA use-cases in manufacturing to achieve aspired goals on cost, productivity, quality, and service level.
• Advance Analytics Based Use Cases example:

OEE, Yield improvements, Predictive maintenance, investigation, MRO & RCA etc.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in Machine automation and IoT projects implementations. Process Understandings related to Pharma industry as well as other relevant industries like FMCG, Energy, Oil & Gas etc.

Functional Skill:

• Deep understanding about 4IR technologies (AI/ML, Robotics, Cloud computing, Big Data analytics, Web Apps, AR/VR, 3D printing)
• Shopfloor Machinery automation knowledge in terms of PLC programming, SCADA-DCS implementations, Mechanical hardwares, MES systems.
• Data connectivity Communication protocols, Communication hardwares, Data networking, Shop floor networking.
• Edge and Cloud computing,
• Edge nodes setup: Azure, AWS, Google, GCP edge nodes & hardwares.
• Cloud services: Databricks, Database, Data Servers, VPN, SQL, Stream analytics
• Cloud Business models: SaaS, PasS, IaaS
