Job summary

Everest in its Property and Casualty Division seeks an entry-level Underwriting Assistant I responsible for managing and processing an assigned portfolio, including review of transactions and timely submissions.

You will gather underwriting information, adhere to guidelines, and maintain correspondence with customers while supporting underwriting relationships and compliant with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming transactions for completeness, accuracy, and quality.
• Process multi-line new business submissions, renewals, and endorsements with rating and policy assembly.
• Adhere to department guidelines to ensure accuracy in processing.
• Manage underwriting relationships with timely responses to inquiries.
• Maintain correspondence with internal and external customers, including daily diaries.
• Ensure compliance with ODEN state rules for cancellations and reinstatements.
• Gather underwriting information including reports, loss data, MVRs, and FEINs.
• Handle special projects as needed.

Job description

This is a professional entry level operations position within Everest’s Property and Casualty Division. The Underwriting Assistant I is responsible for the management and processing of an assigned portfolio of business.Major Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities:

• Review incoming transactions and related information for completeness accuracy and quality.
• Multi-line new business submissions, renewal submissions and endorsements processing including rating, policy construction and assembly in a timely and accurate manner
• Regularly reviews and adheres to department processing guidelines and procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Manage underwriting relationships with timely responses relative to service inquiries.
• Maintain all correspondence activity with internal and external customers including daily diaries on pending transactions.
• Compliance with ODEN state rules and regulations relative to cancellations and reinstatements.
• Gathering underwriting information including experience reports, final audits, loss control reports, financial reports, loss runs, MVRs, and FEINs.
• Special projects as needed.

• Ability to multi task and to independently organize work and prioritize competing demands and requests to complete work within required time constraints.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.
• Knowledge of underwriting principles, product specific coverage, policy forms, pricing tools, regulatory compliance and insurance systems
• Demonstrate proficiency in using on line reference manuals and ability to effective and regularly use multiple electronic systems
• The ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple deadlines
