Job summary

EXL is seeking a Data Analyst with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, banking analytics and credit risk. You will leverage Python, SAS and SQL, with data visualization knowhow, to turn complex data into actionable insights for risk teams.

The role supports US‑based banks’ Risk teams, develops risk policies for POS lending/BNPL/credit cards, and builds BI dashboards. Strong communication and problem‑solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
• 2–3 years of experience in data science, analytics or related role
• Proficiency in Python, SAS, SQL
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Banking domain knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support tactical & strategic risk analytics initiatives for US‑based banks’ Risk team
• Develop risk policy for POS lending, BNPL, and credit card solutions
• Design A/B testing frameworks with DOE to optimize risk programs
• Policy analytics to ensure correct customer segments are targeted
• Build reporting/BI frameworks for Risk teams within the organization
• Evaluate policy effectiveness; manage monthly dashboards and ad‑hoc analyses
• Present analyses to technical and non‑technical groups
• Maintain relationships with colleagues in Risk Management
• Summarize findings into presentations for senior leadership
• Maintain up-to-date understanding of credit risk policies

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Analyst with 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in data analysis and holds banking, analytical and credit risk knowledge. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in SAS, ;SQL along with excellent communication skills and a working knowledge of banking concepts.
