Job summary

McCabe General Merchants Ltd in Ireland is seeking a store manager to oversee all aspects of the store and yard, ensuring high presentation standards and strict adherence to quality, health and safety protocols while running day-to-day operations.

You will lead a high‑performing team, drive coaching and training, manage stock and supplier relationships, and maintain excellent relations with customers and stakeholders in a dynamic retail/agribusiness environment.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5 years of management experience in a large retail or agribusiness environment.
• Education: An Agri Degree / Business (or equivalent) and IASIS certification.
• Skills: Proficiency in IT systems (Excel, POS, Email) and strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Main Responsibilities of the role

Overseeing all aspects of the store and yard, ensuring high standards of presentation and strict adherence to Quality, Health & Safety protocols. Overseeing the day-to-day running of the business.

Team Leadership

Lead and develop a high‑performing team through consistent coaching, feedback, and support. Ensure all training requirements are met while maintaining optimal staffing levels at all times.

Customer & Stakeholder Relations

Excellent interpersonal, communication, people management and leadership skills with a proven ability to build & maintain strong working relationships with customers & stakeholders.

Stock Control

Managing stock control, product mix, and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure availability of seasonal agri-products.

Skills and Experience Required

Experience: 3–5 years of management experience in a large retail or agribusiness environment.

Education: An Agri Degree / Business (or equivalent) and specific certifications like IASIS (for animal remedies and crop protection).

Skills: Proficiency in IT systems (Excel, POS, Email) and excellent interpersonal communication. Excellent organisational and communication skills required. Be prepared to work in a dynamic and fast‑moving environment.

Desirable

• Familiar with Intact/ Genetiq.
