Job summary

McKeon Group is seeking a General Operative based in Leinster to support diverse construction projects. The role involves handling materials, transporting to and between sites, and assisting with site setup, fencing and temporary structures.

You will work under the Site Manager and contribute to safety, quality and timely delivery. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years on construction sites, strong English communication, and a good safety record.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience on construction sites.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (lifting, transporting, cleaning).
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Good communication skills with a strong command of English.
• Detail oriented and team player.
• Honest, flexible, efficient and self-motivated.
• Full Clean Drivers Licence essential.
• Current Safe Pass essential.
• Manual Handling Training preferable.
• Abrasive Wheels Training preferable.
• CSCS Mobile Access Tower Scaffold Training would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Handle and transport materials to and from warehouse.

• Use power tools and plant as required.
• Carry out manual labour tasks as directed by Site Managers.

What’s the opportunity?

We are currently seeking a General Operative to join our team and assist us in ensuring we fulfil our promise to plan, communicate and deliver projects of highest standard with an emphasis on safety, sustainability and quality.

Level: Junior – Reporting to Project Manager / Site Manager as appropriate

Duties / Responsibilities

• Handle and transport materials to & from warehouse
• Arrange and collect deliveries and transport to sites
• Transport materials, plant and equipment from site to site
• Use power tools and plant as required
• Carry out manual labour tasks as directed by Site Managers
• Assist site set up e.g. erection of herras fencing, set up of site offices etc
• Setting up temporary structure e.g. mobile towers
• General and skilled labouring duties on site.
• Ensuring Site Housekeeping is up to standard.
• Other duties as assigned by Site Manager including but not limited to opening / locking up sites from time to time, controlling site admission/ log ins / coordinating deliveries etc.
• Site administrative duties as required.
