Job summary

Wilton Scrap Metals Limited in Naas, Co. Kildare, is seeking welders for immediate start at their Naas facility. The role requires 1–3 years’ welding experience, MIG welding ability, and reading drawings. On-site work with 39 hours a week and a competitive annual remuneration is offered.

Join a team focused on metal fabrication and welding processes, with training provided as needed. Prior experience in waste/recycling environment is a plus, and safety gear must be worn at all times.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ of previous welding experience required; welding certification preferred but not essential.
• Must be able to MIG weld, perform fillet welds and read drawings.
• Operate welding equipment to join metalwork pieces together.
• Use fusion welding processes based on various techniques and materials.
• Perform simple visual inspection of welds.
• Wear appropriate protective gear and adhere to safety standards.
• Smooth burrred surfaces and recognise metal imperfections.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature for metal processes, metal thermal conductivity, and fuel gas.
• Welding from drawings (2D and 3D), MIG welding and fillet welds.
• Align components, join metals and operate welding equipment, including oxy‑fuel torch.
• Apply arc welding techniques and precision metalworking techniques.
• Ensure correct metal temperature and handle fuels.
• Recognise signs of corrosion and remove inadequate workpieces.
• Perform metal active gas welding and inert gas welding.
• Experience in a waste/recycling environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding equipment to join metalwork pieces together as part of the production line.
• MIG weld components and read 2D/3D drawings to ensure accurate assembly.
• Perform simple visual weld inspections and maintain safety standards.
• Prepare surfaces, burr removal, and ensure correct metal temperature during welding.
• Maintain and use protective gear and follow process instructions.

Remuneration and Work Details

Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour.
