Job summary

Greyhound Household Unlimited Company in Dublin is seeking a Welder for immediate start at its Clondalkin facility. 39 hours per week with a pay rate of €18.05 per hour, equivalent to €36,605 per year.

The role requires 1–3 years of welding experience, and MIG welding, fillet welds and drawing reading are essential. Applicants should be able to operate welding equipment, read drawings, and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years welding experience required.
• Welding certification preferred but not essential.
• Must be able to MIG weld, perform fillet welds and read drawings.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding equipment to join metalwork pieces together.
• Use fusion welding processes based on various techniques and materials.
• Perform simple visual inspection of welds.
• Perform fillet welds, MIG welding and read drawings.
• Wear appropriate protective gear and adhere to safety standards.
• Smooth burr-surface and recognise metal imperfections.
• Apply knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature for metal processes, metal thermal conductivity and fuel gas.
• Weld from drawings (2D and 3D), MIG welding and fillet welds.
• Align components, join metals and operate welding equipment including oxy-fuel torch.
• Apply arc welding techniques and precision metalworking techniques.
• Ensure correct metal temperature and handle fuels.
• Recognise signs of corrosion and remove inadequate workpieces.
• Perform metal active gas welding and inert gas welding.
• Possess 1-3 years’ of relevant experience as a Welder.
• Experience in a waste/recycling environment is a plus.
