Job summary

Glanua in Galway, Ireland invites a Civil Engineer Intern to join our multidisciplinary team delivering water and wastewater projects from design to handover. You will learn from senior engineers, contribute to day-to-day project activities, and gain exposure to BIM, leveling, and drafting tasks.

Under supervision you will develop practical skills in setting out, quality control, and project scheduling while observing site operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: Level 7 (incl Diploma & Ordinary Bachelor Degree).
• 0 years experience or more; willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a project team, contributing to the delivery of ongoing projects.
• Support the promotion of Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards onsite.
• Develop foundational skills in setting out under supervision.
• Gain practical experience in the use of laser levels and dumpy levels.
• Build familiarity with BIM/Revit and develop basic drafting skills.
• Learn to interpret rebar details and drawings with guidance from senior engineers.
• Learn and practice basic concrete quality control tests, such as measuring slump and recording results.
• Get familiar with water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Engage in continuous learning and development through guidance and mentoring.
• Support site teams with health and safety activities, inductions and data collection.
• Demonstrate eagerness to learn and progress toward future career goals.
• Undertake other tasks and learning opportunities as required to support project and team needs.
