Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking a Leakage Detection Operative to monitor the water network, detect leaks, and escalate issues to Maintenance and Repair teams. You will use specialist equipment to measure flow and pressure across your region.

The role involves outdoor work, occasional out-of-hours, and a full Irish driving licence. Strong communication, time management and teamwork are essential, with strict adherence to health and safety and the use of handheld technology.

Qualifications

• Secondary level education or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in water/utilities is advantageous.
• Proactive with ability to work on own initiative and with others.
• Full, clean Irish driving licence (Category B) is a minimum requirement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and detect leakage across the water network.
• Work with specialised monitoring equipment to measure water flow and pressure.
• Isolate and re-commission sections of the distribution network in a controlled manner.
• Escalate detected leakages immediately to the Team Lead for intervention.
• Participate in out-of-hours work as required.
• Support continuous improvement and data sharing within the region.
