Job summary

Walsh Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Galway. You will move, segregate, and load waste materials, contributing to maximised recycling outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Solid Waste Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with a dedicated team to meet productivity targets and maintain high safety standards while operating machinery and supporting efficient waste processing.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3+ years’ experience in Waste & Recycling or Construction.
• Experience operating heavy plant machinery.
• Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate materials handlers with sorting grabs to segregate materials.
• Load walking floor trailers, trucks and other transport vehicles.
• Supply and maintain material flow to sorting lines for efficient operations.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and operate machinery safely.
• Work with supervisors to meet operational targets and quality standards.
