Job summary

Musgrave Group plc, via Doyles Veg Prep, is seeking a Warehouse Team Lead to drive day-to-day operations and lead a controlled, compliant warehouse team in Ireland. You will oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch, while maintaining food safety standards and stock integrity.

You will supervise staff, manage attendance and performance, and partner with Production, Purchasing and Transport to meet customer deadlines in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or management experience within a warehouse, production, distribution, FMCG, or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and people-management skills.
  • Experience dealing with attendance, conduct, and performance management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day warehouse operations and team.
  • Ensure FIFO stock rotation, accuracy, and efficient picking/packing.
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound customer deliveries, resolving issues.
  • Maintain HACCP, hygiene, temperature control, traceability and quality records.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
  • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing and Transport to meet daily targets.
  • Monitor performance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and people-focused Warehouse Team Lead to work alongside the Warehouse Manager in leading and managing our warehouse operations.

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, preparation, and dispatch of fresh produce. The role involves supervising warehouse staff, maintaining food safety standards, managing stock levels, and ensuring all inbound and outbound deliveries are processed accurately and on time.

What you’ll be doing

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Support the Warehouse Manager in the daily operation of the warehouse.
  • Ensure stock is received, stored, rotated, and managed correctly using FIFO principles.
  • Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, checked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Ensure all areas are operating in line with customer requirements and company standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse operatives to achieve operational targets.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.
  • Monitor employee attendance, timekeeping, productivity, and adherence to company procedures.
  • Deputise for the Warehouse Manager during periods of absence.
  • Assist with labour planning, shift scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Support warehouse audits, stocktakes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates on operational performance, staffing issues, and warehouse challenges.

Deliveries & Logistics

  • Coordinate inbound supplier deliveries and outbound customer deliveries.
  • Investigate delivery discrepancies and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Coordinate the movement of raw vegetables into the preparation area.
  • Work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Transport teams to meet daily customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Ensure vehicles are loaded safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of product quality, presentation, and customer specification compliance.
  • Minimise picking errors, product damage, and customer complaints.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure HACCP, hygiene, temperature control, traceability, and quality procedures are followed at all times.
  • Report and investigate food safety, quality, or health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, BRC, and company food safety requirements where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to stock, inspections, temperatures, and operational activities.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and food safety procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the operation.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits.
  • Address safety concerns and hazards promptly.
  • Monitor and enforce the correct use of PPE and warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.

Stock Control & Administration

  • Carry out regular stock checks and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels, communicate shortages to relevant departments.
  • Monitor waste and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Complete delivery paperwork, stock records, and operational documentation accurately.
  • Communicate urgent orders, stock issues, and operational challenges to management.
  • Assist with periodic stocktakes and inventory reconciliation activities.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience within a fresh produce, food production, or food distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and traceability requirements.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Manual Handling, Health & Safety, or Food Safety certifications.
  • Forklift licence or experience operating material handling equipment.
