Job summary

Hannon Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Operative at the Lusk depot to support cross-dock and general warehouse operations. You will load, unload, and move goods, ensuring accurate stock flow and safe handling across the warehouse and transport teams.

The role requires reliability, physical fitness for manual handling, and flexibility to work day or night shifts, including weekends, in a busy logistics environment. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Job Purpose

The Warehouse Operative supports cross-dock and general warehouse operations by efficiently loading, unloading, and moving goods to ensure smooth and timely handling of freight. The role contributes to maintaining accurate stock flow, safe handling practices, and organised storage, supporting operational efficiency and service delivery across the warehouse and transport teams.

Getting to or from HANNON depot

The depot is conveniently serviced 24 hours by Bus Eireann on Route 101, ensuring easy access to and from work if you live in the Drogheda, Balbriggan, Swords or North Dublin area. Bus runs 24 hours a day, departing every 20 to 30 minutes depending on time of day.

A Dublin bus, route 33, stops a few hundred meters nearby at Blakes Cross and services Balbriggan Skerries, Lusk and Swords, Santry, Whitehall, Drumcondra, Dorset Street finishing at lower Abbey Street Dublin city centre.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Duties

• Load and unload trucks efficiently, safely, and accurately
• Handle goods using appropriate equipment, including pallet trucks and other warehouse machinery
• Assist with organisation and movement of stock within the warehouse as required
• Report any damaged goods or operational issues to supervisors
• Follow standard operating procedures to maintain quality and safety standards

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Comply with all health and safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques
• Ensure the safe operation of warehouse equipment
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area

Teamwork & Support

• Work collaboratively with warehouse colleagues and supervisors
• Participate in induction, training, and mentoring programs as required
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Essential

• Reliable, punctual, and motivated with a strong work ethic
• Physically capable of manual handling and operating warehouse equipment
• Willing to work day or night shifts, including weekends
• Team-oriented and adaptable

Desirable

• Previous cross-docking or warehouse experience
• Experience operating power pallet trucks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment
