Job summary

The Rehab Group in Kilkenny is seeking a Vocational Training Instructor on a Specific Purpose Contract, part-time (21 hours).

You will train and develop Learners in line with local programme specifications, assist with additional support needs, and support progression to further education or employment.

Qualifications include a third-level degree and QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer; experience with QQI Level 3/4 certifications is required.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences.
• QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer qualification.
• Several years' relevant experience with learners in educational or guidance contexts.
• Experience delivering QQI Level 3+4 certifications and insourcing work placements.

Responsibilities

• Provide systematic training according to curricula and modules for QQI Level certification.
• Facilitate learners in developing knowledge, skills and confidence for progression.
• Meet KPIs for learner placement, progression and certification targets.
• Liaise with stakeholders to maintain programme allocations.

Vocational Training Instructor

Specific Purpose Contract / Part time- 21 hours

Job Purpose

The Vocational Training Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programmes The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment.

What we're looking for:

• Third level qualification, preferably within the Education/Training or Social Sciences sector.
• A relevant pedagogical/training qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum.
• A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with Learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts.
• Experience in delivery of QQI level 3 + 4 certifications .
• Experience insourcing work placements.
• Experience in TQAS and QQI accreditation processes.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules for QQI Level certification.
• Facilitate participants in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to secure progression outcomes.
• Meet key performance indicators in relation to learner placement and progression and achievement of certification targets.
• As part of a team liaise appropriately with relevant key stakeholders in maintaining programme allocations.
• Assist Learners in reviewing previous experiences and exploring future goals, using a range of occupational interest, educational and problem solving techniques.
• Collaborate on the development of Individual Action Plans to support each Learner’s progression, Evaluate the vocational rehabilitation needs of each Learner and produce a profile of those needs.
• Source and support work experience placements and instil by example and direct training, proper work attitudes and work behaviours.

Closing Date: 27 October 2026

Salary starting from point 1 €35,740.34 to point 5 €43,319.87 pro rata. The 14-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €60,373.79 pro rata.
