Job summary

BNY seeks a Vice President, Product Owner in Dublin to lead product ownership for the POD within Asset Servicing. You’ll partner with the Product Manager to shape priorities, coordinate with Product, Technology and Operations, and refine backlog items for predictable delivery.

You’ll define requirements, track delivery metrics, and drive continuous improvement while leveraging AI responsibly to enhance outcomes across the POD.

• Comfort operating in ambiguity with evolving priorities.
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strong and credible Product Owner within the POD, partnering with the Product Manager to shape priorities, delivery approach, and outcomes.
• Drive delivery of future-state capabilities across Product, Technology and Operations.
• Own day-to-day product ownership, backlog priorities, and providing clear direction to the Scrum team.
• Lead the definition and refinement of product requirements with stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Monitor business and product trends to inform prioritisation and adjust delivery plans.
• Track delivery insights and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate across product teams to manage dependencies and align delivery.
• Influence through partnership; coach team members to remove obstacles.
• Champion pragmatic improvements, including applied AI to enhance delivery efficiency.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Product Owner to join our Trustee & Depositary team within Asset Servicing. This role is located in Dublin

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Act as a strong and credible Product Owner within the POD, partnering closely with the Product Manager to shape priorities, delivery approach, and outcomes for the Investment & Borrowing Restrictions POD within the Trustee & Depositary business.
• Work across Product, Technology, and Operations to drive the delivery of future‑state capabilities and ongoing enhancements, balancing strategic intent with practical execution.
• Own the day‑to‑day product ownership, shaping and refining user stories, owning and prioritising areas of the backlog, and providing clear direction to the Scrum team to enable effective and predictable delivery.
• Lead the definition and refinement of product requirements, synthesising input from stakeholders, delivery teams, and data sources to ensure solutions are well‑designed, compliant, and fit for purpose.
• Monitor business, operational, and product trends to proactively inform prioritisation decisions, identify emerging risks or opportunities, and adjust delivery plans accordingly.
• Take ownership of delivery insights by tracking key delivery and performance indicators, using these to drive continuous improvement in product outcomes and ways of working.
• Work collaboratively across product teams to ensure joined‑up delivery, actively managing dependencies, sequencing work, and resolving conflicts in priorities.
• Use influence rather than authority to maintain momentum through ambiguity, working in partnership with stakeholders and coaching less‑experienced team members to remove obstacles and enable effective delivery.
• Champion pragmatic improvement, exploring how tools, automation, and AI can be applied responsibly to improve delivery efficiency, control, and outcomes across the POD.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Solid experience working as a Product Owner (or equivalent), with a track record of delivering outcomes in agile, cross‑functional environments.
• Strong hands‑on delivery capability, including requirements definition, backlog ownership, prioritisation, and close collaboration with Scrum teams.
• Confidence working across peers and stakeholders, with the ability to influence decisions and build alignment across teams
• Experience contributing as a subject matter expert in complex delivery or transformation initiatives, offering constructive challenges and practical solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort operating in environments with ambiguity, competing priorities, and evolving direction.
• Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in a way that enables good decision‑making.
• A curious, improvement‑oriented mindset, with interest in how tools and AI can help teams work smarter and deliver better results.
• Experience working in financial services or another regulated industry, preferably in custody, depositary, or fund oversight activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related discipline.
