Job summary

MSD in Ireland invites applications for an Operations Technical Specialist – Vaccines Intern. This fixed-term co-op program exposes you to vaccine manufacturing operations, process improvements, and quality controls while you contribute to real projects.

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, apply problem-solving methods, and gain hands-on experience in process design, troubleshooting, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Working towards a science or engineering qualification or relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical operations (manufacturing, technology, engineering, quality, analytical).
• Demonstrated delivery of a section of a process/technical project.
• Strong problem solving and collaborative skills across functions.

Responsibilities

• Support department and site level activities requiring process and operational knowledge.
• Help troubleshoot technical and process-related issues.
• Identify, raise and close Safety and Quality incidents.
• Participate in cross-functional problem-solving for investigations.
• Support material management and troubleshooting with a cost focus.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
• Represent the department on cross-functional project teams.
• Drive continuous improvement with root-cause analysis (FMEA, fishbone, 5 whys).
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and cost standards.
