Job summary

NIBRT invites a Research Fellow to join the Lassa LIFT consortium, working on thermostabilisation of a live virus vaccine. Based in Ireland, the role focuses on developing drying formulations for scalable production and moving toward clinical evaluation, with leadership responsibilities within the project.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in pharmaceutical vaccines or virology.
• 5+ years postdoc/industry experience in biopharmaceutical formulation.
• Ability to work independently on research projects.
• Experience supervising junior researchers.
• Peer-reviewed publications or industry experience.
• Experience with lyophilisation to stabilise vaccines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a programme of research to high standards under supervision.
• Design and execute research plans for thermostabilisation.
• Prepare and present reports to partners and funders.
• Mentor early career researchers and staff.
• Maintain lab safety, data integrity and notebooks.
• Collaborate with external partners to ensure progress.
• Lead drafting of manuscripts and progress reports.
• Identify external funding opportunities and prepare proposals.
