Job summary

Fastnet in Dublin is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join a new biopharmaceutical research group. The role centers on performing, analysing and reporting immunohistochemical cell-based virus potency assays.

The candidate should have at least 2 years’ postgraduate experience in virology, and be motivated to pursue a career as a laboratory scientist with strong reporting, planning and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ postgraduate experience in virology after MSc.
• Laboratory-based experience in virology and biosafety practices.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Demonstrable achievements delivering results in a lab setting.
• Strong organisation and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform research under direction of PI and Research Fellow.
• Assist in planning, organising, conducting and analysing studies.
• Maintain sample logging and inventory of materials/equipment.
• Contribute to design and execution of the research.
• Uphold lab safety, data integrity, and electronic notebook practices.
• Carry out administrative and management work related to the project.
• Engage in training to develop transferable skills and reputation.
• Present progress and outcomes to project stakeholders and staff.
