Job summary

Orica in Navan, Ireland, is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a small maintenance team responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing bulk explosives pumping systems and related equipment in underground mining environments.

The role requires a strong mechanical background, a hands-on approach, and the ability to work safely and independently in a remote, safety-critical setting. PLC knowledge would be advantageous and collaboration with cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or degree in Mechanical Maintenance.
• Experience with pumps, hydraulic and rotating equipment.
• Underground mining experience preferred.
• Good troubleshooting and practical hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and repair pumping systems in underground mining.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform preventative maintenance.
• Assist electrical/PLC issues with specialists as needed.
• Keep maintenance records and support SHES standards.
