EY is seeking a Senior Test Consultant to join the UKI Technology Consulting team in Dublin. You will help deliver IT projects across agile and traditional environments, shaping testing strategies, and mentoring junior staff within a dynamic, transformation-focused practice.

The role emphasizes QA, UAT, RTMs, and test automation, with opportunities to engage with clients and contribute to EY’s testing community while working in a hybrid model across technology consulting services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a client-facing role within consulting or professional services on large change/transformation programmes.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps and traditional environments.
• Experience creating RTMs to ensure end-to-end requirement coverage.
• Experience with functional and non-functional testing including UAT and system testing.
• Experience with test cases and acceptance criteria.

We offer a comprehensive range of functional testing services, including requirements‑based testing, integration testing, system testing, regression testing, and acceptance testing. Through agile QA and testing practices, we enable faster time‑to‑market, flexibility, and adaptability to changing requirements, along with automation and continuous testing to drive improved efficiencies. Our expertise extends to technical testing services such as test automation, API and microservices testing, mobile device testing, performance testing, and ETL testing, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a Senior Test Consultant, by joining the Technology Consulting team, you will be helping our clients solve a whole range of challenges – from the requirement to respond to the ever‑changing demands of the market, to working on large and complex transformation programmes that truly transform our clients’ ways of working. Your key responsibilities

• You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of IT Projects through methodologies such as Agile Scrum/Kanban and traditional Waterfall (when required), leveraging your domain knowledge and sector experience.
• Participate in presentations and proposals for medium complex projects or elements of highly complex projects.
• Create high‑quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more services, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems.
• Understand all our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients.
• Maintain focus so that projects deliver on key priorities and dependencies.
• Be responsible for contributing to proposals and client presentations for complex IT delivery projects that require disciplined quality assurance and testing expertise.
• Be responsible for your own self‑development, and maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills.
• Actively contribute to EY’s Quality Assurance & Testing Community of practice.
• Understand all our consulting service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients and build meaningful external relationships with our clients and internal relationships across service lines.
• Develop junior team members through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring.
• Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures.

Skills and attributes for success

• A strong academic record including a third‑level degree, preferably in a business or IT related discipline, from a recognised third‑level institution.
• QA accreditation (ISTQB Foundation, or a similar IT accreditation from a recognised third‑level institution or accreditation body).
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience working in a client‑facing role for a leading consulting or professional services company on large‑scale change/transformation programmes, systems integration programmes, or utility sector initiatives.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps and traditional environments.
• Experience creating and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) to ensure end‑to‑end requirement coverage.
• Experience of functional and non‑functional testing, including integration, regression, user acceptance testing (UAT), and system testing.
• Experience of creating test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Experience of using test management and defect management tools, including issue tracking and reporting tools.
• Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including working with business stakeholders.
• Experience of manual testing and/or test automation, including supporting continuous testing practices within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with troubleshooting and end‑to‑end defect management process.
• Experience within Utilities, Energy, Infrastructure, or other highly regulated environments.

Ideally, you will also have

• Experience of one or more technology areas including but not limited to ERP, CRM, Digital Workplace, CX, Cloud Migration and/or integrations, Data & Analytics, RPA, Emerging Tech, IoT, Blockchain.
• A structured approach to problem solving and the ability to work independently managing your own workload with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills – tailoring communications to suit both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Exposure to AI/Generative AI solutions and an understanding of testing considerations, including output validation, prompt testing, and Responsible AI principles such as bias, security, privacy, and transparency.
