Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics.

The post holder will perform bioinformatic analysis of proteomic and phosphoproteomic datasets, integrate these with complementary transcriptomic and other relevant omics data, and access, curate and data mine publicly available repositories such as PRIDE. The role will involve close collaboration with research team members to interpret findings, refine analytical approaches and ensure that outputs are scientifically rigorous and clearly documented.

The post holder will report to Dr Michelle Carey and Dr Tess McCann and will not have formal supervisory responsibilities. The role will, however, involve providing guidance and training to members of the research team in the use of analytical workflows, computational pipelines and good practices for reproducible bioinformatic analyses. The post holder will also work independently within an agreed research framework, with responsibility for maintaining reproducible code, clear documentation and user-friendly computational protocols that can be used by the research group beyond the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics postdoctoral research fellow for a short-term position to support data analysis and pipeline development for a multi-omics research project. The successful candidate will focus on the analysis of proteomic and phosphoproteomic datasets generated across various animal models. A primary objective is the development of reproducible bioinformatic pipelines and the integration of these data with previously published transcriptomic profiling.The role involves extensive interaction with online repositories such as PRIDE to extract and re-analyse relevant datasets. The appointee will contribute to integrative multi-omics analyses to uncover biological insights and ensure all workflows meet high standards of reproducibility.

The PD1 position is intended for early-stage researchers, either just after completion of a PhD or for someone entering a new area for the first time. If you have already completed your PD1 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD1, or you are an external applicant whose total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 4 years, you should not apply and should refer to PD2 posts instead.
