Job summary

Musgrave Group in Ireland is seeking a Line Manager to join our transport team at the depot. You will support and assist the Regional Transport Manager by organising and managing specific elements of the transport function to meet depot targets and deliver the best service to retailers and customers.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, KPI monitoring, driver management, and collaboration with other departments to ensure on-time delivery, health and safety, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, people management and customer service skills.
• Experience in a logistics business with multiple weekly deliveries.
• Experience managing in a busy transport department in a high-volume business.
• Good organisational and administration skills with the ability to solve problems in a fast-moving environment.
• High level of computer literacy and ability to interpret and analyse data.
• Thorough knowledge of distribution operations including H&S and HACCP.
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Legislation.
• Customer focused and driven.
• The ideal candidate should be a team player, be flexible and have the ability to maintain focused whilst under pressure.
• Have the ability to work on your own initiative, be self-motivated and have a consistent work methodology.

Responsibilities

• To assist in the management of the transport operation, to maintain the required service levels to our retailers, within budgetary constraints and operational KPI targets.
• Manage and conduct work activities in such a way as to promote, proactively engage and ensure the safety, health, and welfare at work of all employees.
• Manage, motivate, and engage the transport team to deliver a best-in-class service to our customers.
• Deal with drivers, suppliers and stores on delivery and collection queries.
• Support the Regional Transport Manager with the ongoing development and implementation of an effective, efficient and cost competitive transport function.
• Implement and operate transport software system Stratum
• Manage drivers and operations to create high performing teams, continuous improvement and a high performing culture.
• Monitor and assess KPI’s and where appropriate implement timely corrective action.
• Maintain a working environment in line with Road Transport, Health & Safety, Food Safety & Quality legislation and ensure that employees are trained accordingly.
• Liaise and work with other departments to ensure that product delivery meets deadline
