Job summary

UPMC Ireland's Kildare Hospital is seeking a Theatre Healthcare Assistant to support the nursing team and surgeons in preparing theatres, transferring patients, and keeping the operating environment clean and sterile.

With at least one year in a similar role, you will coordinate equipment, liaise with anaesthetic staff, and assist in patient transport and care, ensuring smooth theatre lists and high standards of patient comfort.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Strong organisation and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare theatres for surgery and ensure equipment is ready for procedures.
• Assist in transferring patients to and from theatre.
• Maintain sterile environment and clean theatres, tables, trollies and equipment.
• Liaise with anaesthetic staff regarding patient needs and theatre lists.
• Assist surgeon and scrub nurses in patient preparation for surgery.
