Job summary

UPMC Ireland is seeking a Theatre Healthcare Assistant at UPMC Kildare Hospital to support the nursing team and consultants. The role involves preparing theatres, assisting in patient transfer, and ensuring a clean, sterile environment for each procedure.

Qualifications

• FETAC Level 5 qualification is required.
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Must have strong organisation and problem solving skills.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare theatres for surgery and ensure sterile environment.
• Assist in transferring patients to and from theatre.
• Transport patients to recovery and to their beds post-procedure.
• Procure and manage equipment and cleaning supplies for each procedure.
• Liaise with anaesthetic staff regarding list requirements.
• Report unresolved queries to the Clinical Manager.
• Assist with stock and specimen handling as needed.
