Job summary

UPMC Ireland is seeking a Staff Nurse Theatre for Aut Even Hospital in Kilkenny. You will be integral to the operating theatre, endoscopy and anaesthetics teams, delivering evidence-based care for surgery patients.

The role requires NMBI General Division registration or entitlement, Basic Life Support, and about 2 years of theatre nursing experience. A theatre qualification is advantageous, with a competitive benefits package and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

Registered in the General Division of the NMBI or eligible for registration.
Basic Life Support Training completed.
Minimum 2 years theatre nursing experience.
A relevant theatre qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care in the theatre, endoscopy and recovery areas.
Assist in anaesthetics, scrub, circulating, PACU or endoscopy duties as required.
Mentor or buddy new staff and facilitate orientation and development.
Prepare equipment and instruments per patient/consultant needs and update preference cards.
Ensure aseptic technique and decontamination procedures are followed.
Supervise junior staff and contribute to education within the team.
