Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to join a leading financial services organisation and support the delivery of a number of large-scale European enterprise application projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Test Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end testing lifecycle across multiple countries and business areas. You will define the overall test strategy and approach, lead test execution and coordinate a test team comprising business users, Systems Analysts and other technology stakeholders.

The portfolio includes major enterprise transformation initiatives, including SAP SuccessFactors rollout and integrations and SAP S/4HANA system integrations.

The Role

As Test Manager, you will be responsible for structuring and leading the testing phases of multiple European projects, covering test strategy, planning, execution, governance and final test reporting.

Working closely with programme management, delivery teams, business stakeholders and European counterparts, you will ensure testing is effectively planned, coordinated and delivered in line with project milestones and software release cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate testing activities across multiple countries, projects and business areas.
• Define and maintain the overall test strategy, approach and test plans.
• Align testing activities and timelines with software release cycles and wider programme plans.
• Lead and manage test execution through the full testing lifecycle.
• Drive and support a test team consisting largely of business users and Systems Analysts.
• Guide, train and support business teams with test planning, scripting and execution.
• Contribute directly to test scripting and execution where required.
• Monitor test progress and provide clear, structured reporting to programme and delivery management.
• Manage defects and issues through identification, tracking, escalation and resolution.
• Prepare test results, test completion reports and final test summary documentation.
• Maintain appropriate project, testing and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate testing activities across business, technology and third-party teams.
• Manage and oversee any subcontractor testing deliverables.
• Support the overall programme delivery and achievement of key milestones.
• Support knowledge transfer across teams where appropriate.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• 5–10 years' experience as a Test Manager, ideally within complex enterprise transformation programmes.
• Strong experience across Quality Assurance and Testing, covering both software and business processes.
• Previous experience within financial services, insurance, accounting, finance and/or actuarial environments.
• Proven experience developing and communicating test strategies, approaches and detailed test plans.
• Strong test leadership experience, particularly leading teams of business-based testers and Systems Analysts.
• Experience managing testing across multiple business areas, systems and stakeholder groups.
• Good understanding of software release cycles and the ability to align testing plans accordingly.
• Experience working within recognised IT delivery methodologies and processes.
• Strong documentation skills with experience securing business review, sign-off and approval.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against strict project deadlines.
• A proactive, self-motivated and flexible approach with strong team-working skills.
