Job summary

OpenText seeks a Technology & Innovation Programme Lead in Ireland to drive the innovation engine behind our engineering and AI initiatives. You will own externally funded research programmes, funding submissions, tax credit activities, and strategic partner relationships with universities, industry partners and customers.

You will also provide line management and technical leadership to a small engineering and data science team, ensuring delivery capability, credibility of programmes, and value

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in engineering, programme management, or innovation operations with a technical degree.
• Proven ability to lead collaborative innovation projects with academia and industry partners.
• Strong software engineering background with depth in AI and data science.
• Experience leading technical teams, including performance and career development.
• Excellent technical and business writing for funding submissions and compliance reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence executives.
• Sound commercial judgement and grant funding experience; Azure awareness and fluent English.

Technology & Innovation Programme Lead
YOUR IMPACT
As a Technology & Innovation Programme Lead, you will lead the innovation engine behind OpenText's engineering and AI-focused innovation organization. You will own externally funded research programmes, funding initiatives, tax credit activities, and strategic partner relationships, working across engineering, data science, universities, industry collaborators, funding agencies, and strategic customers. You will drive the conversion of research ideas into funded projects, delivered outcomes, and tangible customer value while representing OpenText within Ireland's innovation ecosystem.
Alongside this externally facing remit, you will provide line management and technical leadership to a small engineering and data science team. This is not a day-to-day software delivery management role; established release and delivery leads are already in place, but you will be accountable for the people and technical oversight that keep our delivery capability strong and our innovation programmes credible.

What You Need To Succeed

• 8+ years of experience across engineering, technical programme management, or innovation operations in combination with a degree in a technical field, engineering, computer science, data science, or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage
• Proven ability to lead collaborative innovation projects with academic and industry partners.
• Strong software engineering background with technical depth across engineering, AI, and data science.
• Experience leading technical teams, including performance, development, and career growth.
• Excellent technical and business writing for funding submissions, tax credit narratives, and compliance reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management with proven ability to influence executives and negotiate effectively.
• Sound commercial judgement, grant funding experience, Azure awareness, and fluent English communication skills.
