Job summary

OpenText is seeking a Principal AI Developer in Ireland to lead the design and delivery of scalable AI systems. You will own the full stack from platform to application, including orchestration, APIs, and production readiness, while mentoring engineers and shaping engineering standards.

The role sits at the heart of OpenText’s AI strategy and sovereign cloud initiatives, driving multi-agent AI orchestration in regulated environments across the Ireland R&D hub.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Expertise in AI/ML frameworks, APIs, and production deployment.
• Experience with vector DBs, retrieval systems, or LLM frameworks.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and system design skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI services, orchestration layers, and APIs.
• Lead technical design and architecture decisions.
• Ensure systems are scalable, observable, and cost-efficient.
• Own production readiness: monitoring, logging, incident response.

As part of this investment, we’re seeking a Principal AI Developer - a senior technical leader who will design and deliver scalable, production-grade AI systems with full ownership of quality, performance, and real-world impact.

This role sits at the heart of both OpenText’s global AI strategy and the expansion of our Ireland R&D capability. You will play a foundational role in building the next generation of sovereign AI for Europe, helping establish our EMEA Centre of Excellence for Agentic AI and Sovereign Cloud. Working at the forefront of multi‑agent AI orchestration in regulated environments, you’ll shape how enterprise AI is built and operated at scale.

You’ll work across the full AI stack - spanning platform, orchestration, and application layer, rather than operating within a silo, giving you direct influence on enterprise‑scale outcomes. Crucially, this is not just about applying AI - it’s about creating it. You will contribute to foundational intellectual property in agentic AI, data sovereignty, and cybersecurity, helping define the technology and engineering standards that will power OpenText’s future, rather than simply implementing existing tools.
