Job summary

Virgin Media Ireland is seeking a Technology Delivery Lead to orchestrate complex technology programs across multiple domains. You will govern technical projects, manage integration risks, and oversee performance of software and partner deliveries, while partnering with engineering, procurement and legal to ensure successful outcomes.

The role requires strong SAFe/Agile expertise, broad stakeholder management, and a proven ability to drive delivery excellence across geographies and vendor

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical delivery leadership across large-scale programs.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, software development lifecycles, and Agile/SAFe frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in vendor governance, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Certifications such as PMP, SAFe, or ITIL are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Governance forums for technical delivery teams ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and risk management.
  • Act as escalation point for integration issues across delivery streams and manage mitigation planning.
  • Oversee vendor delivery performance against SLAs and contractual obligations; lead governance and reviews.
  • Draft and negotiate partner contracts; support SOW definitions and onboarding of new vendors.
  • Coordinate engineering, QA, and operations; lead escalation during release cutovers and critical delivery phases.

About the Role

The Technology Delivery Lead is a key role responsible for orchestrating the successful delivery of complex technology programs across multiple domains. This includes governance of technical projects, resolution of integration risks, performance oversight of software and integration partners, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure delivery excellence. The role also supports procurement and contract creation for strategic technology partnerships and any other delivery tasks as required by Head of Technology Delivery.

Specific Duties & Tasks
Technical Project Management Governance Lead

Governance forums for technical delivery teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Support complex technical project risk management and resolutions for release train engineers and system integrators. Maintain traceability matrices, deployment schedules, and solution documentation. Apply SAFe and Agile methodologies to drive structured delivery across programs.

System Integration Issue & Risk Management

Act as the escalation point for unresolved integration issues across delivery streams. Conduct impact assessments and risk mitigation planning for system dependencies. Ensure cross-stream handshake and unblock challenges through structured governance.

Software & Integration Partner Performance Management

Oversee partner delivery performance against SLAs and contractual obligations. Coordinate reporting, penalty management, and service quality reviews. Lead vendor relationship management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Partner Contract Creation & Procurement Support

Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to draft and negotiate partner contracts. Support SOW definition, onboarding, and transition frameworks for new vendors. Ensure compliance with budgetary and governance standards.

Software Engineering Team Collaboration & Escalation Management

Serve as the central point of coordination between engineering, QA, and operations. Lead escalation management during release cutovers and critical delivery phases. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and delivery excellence across teams.

Proven experience in technical delivery leadership across large-scale programs. Strong understanding of system integration, software development lifecycles, and Agile/SAFe frameworks.
