Job summary

Roughan & O'Donovan is seeking a civil/rail design professional based in Dublin. The role involves working across light and heavy rail projects and asset management, with clients including Iarnród Éireann and Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines are essential. Ideal candidates will have 3–7 years post-qualification experience in design, drawing and modelling, plus fluency in English.

Background As a member of our railways team, you will work across a range of projects, including light rail, heavy rail and railway asset management. Our clients include Iarnrd ireann, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, local authorities and leading contractors in the implementation of railway schemes. Current and recent projects include: George's Dock Bridge Waterford City Public Infrastructure Project DART+ West Cork Area Commuter Rail (CACR) Programme

Essential requirements

• A relevant qualification (Level 7 or higher in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
• Three to seven years' post qualification experience in design, drawing and modelling
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlines
• Flexible, motivated and focused
• Fluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written English

Desirable capabilities

• A good knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, MX Rail would be a significant advantage
