Job summary

Roughan & O'Donovan is recruiting a civil engineer to join our Dublin, Cork and Leeds oriented team. You will design and coordinate external works for a diverse portfolio including housing, healthcare and education projects.

The role requires a Level 8 civil engineering degree, 3–7 years of experience in site development design, and strong English communication. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to sustainable, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Level 8 or equivalent).
  • Site development design experience for building projects (access roads, car parks, drainage, water, SuDS).
  • Three to seven years' relevant experience and sector knowledge.
  • Proven technical knowledge and engineering skills.
  • Experience of designing drainage and water supply systems.
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate external works for building projects.

About the role

You will be part of a team recognised for delivering high quality, cost-effective and sustainable building projects across a range of sectors, including residential, healthcare, education and commercial. Your remit will be to design and coordinate all external works associated with our building projects.

Essential
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
  • Site development design experience for building projects (access roads, car parks, drainage, water, SuDS)
  • Three to seven years' relevant experience and sector knowledge
  • Proven technical knowledge and engineering skills
  • Experience of designing drainage and water supply systems
  • Ability to produce quality design outputs
  • Flexible, motivated and focused
