Responsibilities

  • Review OJT applications per UK/EU Part 66 guidance.
  • Drive continuous improvement within PAML and change management.
  • Work with manuals: MOE, TSM, SMM; use engineering systems like Boeing docs, digital libraries.

Job description

Description

The Technical Standards Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling maintenance standards, procedures, and technical documentation that support safe, compliant, and efficient aircraft maintenance operations. Acting as a key link between operational teams, Safety, and Compliance functions, the role ensures that technical requirements are clearly communicated, consistently applied, and effectively managed across the organisation. The position also supports continuous improvement and key organisational change.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in amendments of the organisation’s procedures and manuals (MOE, including the associated procedure(s)) with due consideration of EASA/UKCAA regulatory requirement and any other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for assisting PAML Managers and Supervisors to complete effective root cause and corrective actions in relation to safety occurrences, information security events/vulnerabilities and findings raised as a result of compliance audits or internal reporting scheme output.
  • Responsible for compliance with and promotion of the Safety Policy and Objectives.
  • Assist in the timely closure of appropriate group containment and corrective actions because of safety occurrences, audit findings or information security events/vulnerabilities.
  • Responsible for standardising processes and procedures across all sites within PAML group and the wider Ryanair network.
  • Responsible for the assessment of alternative tools and management of technical documentation system
  • Responsible for the assessment of proposed C/S & S/S individuals and composition of the application for company approval to be reviewed and accepted by the Compliance Department.
  • Responsible for review of OJT applications in accordance with UK/EU Part 66
  • Drive Continuous improvement within PAML group and PAML management of change process
  • Work in accordance with company manuals and procedures, including:

– Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)

– Technical Standards Manual (TSM)

– Safety Management Manual (SMM)

  • Navigate and utilize engineering systems including:

– Boeing fleet technical documentation systems

– Digital technical document libraries

– Technical Services Query dashboards

  • Promote and apply human factors principles throughout all duties

Requirements

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements (EASA/UK CAA Part 145 & Part CAMO) would be a distinct advantage
  • Attention to detail and high standards of documentation accuracy
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong safety mindset and awareness of human factors

Experience & Qualifications
