Job summary

Sitecore is seeking an experienced product leader to own the MCP layer and associated AI-enabled platform services. You will shape the context layer, headless AI services, and platform contracts, partnering with engineering and data teams to deliver scalable, observable solutions.

You will drive evaluation frameworks, performance metrics, and cross-team collaboration to ensure high-quality AI-driven experiences across Sitecore's product suite.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in platform or API product management, ideally with AI platforms or developer-focused products.
• Strong technical understanding of APIs, knowledge graphs, MCP or comparable tool-use protocols, and modern AI/ML concepts.
• Analytical mindset with experience using data and telemetry to guide decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear business value.

About the Role:

This is a chance to build the platform beneath the platform. Every AI experience Sitecore ships, from specialized agents to agentic workflows to brand-aware content generation, runs on a common foundation of scalable AI services, a shared context layer, and headless APIs. That foundation is what you'll own.

What You Will Do:

• Own the roadmap for Sitecore's MCP layer: the unified gateway and the MCP servers that expose platform capabilities as tools, resources, and prompts to agents inside and outside Sitecore


• Drive the context layer: graph-powered services that ground AI in each customer's content, brand, taxonomy, and performance data, plus the schema and enrichment APIs that let partners extend it


• Define and scale headless AI services (the LLM proxy, agent-facing APIs, shared inference and retrieval services) consumed by every product team building agentic experiences


• Design and implement evaluation frameworks that measure the quality, reliability, and cost of AI services, and make those metrics the basis for release decisions


• Champion observability, performance, and multi-tenant scalability as first-class product requirements, not afterthoughts


• Drive early adoption with internal product teams, customers, and partners, using their feedback loops to shape platform contracts before they harden


• Shape AI-first ways of working across the organization, modelling how AI-driven processes scale product management, engineering, and delivery

What You Need to Succeed

• Proven experience in platform or API product management, ideally with AI platforms, data systems, or developer-focused products where other teams are your customers.


• Strong technical understanding of APIs, knowledge graphs, MCP or comparable tool-use protocols, and modern AI/ML concepts


• Ability to design and apply evaluation and performance frameworks for complex, probabilistic systems


• Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, data, and business teams


• Analytical mindset with experience using data and telemetry to guide decisions


• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear business values


• An AI-first mindset: you always seek opportunities to scale the organization through AI-driven processes, and you apply that to your own ways of working

Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:

• You've shipped headless APIs, SDKs, or MCP servers used by external developers or partners


• You've built a context layer, knowledge graph, or semantic data platform in production


• Hands-on experience with agentic architectures, multi-agent orchestration, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
