Job summary

Test Triangle in Ireland is seeking an experienced MQ/ACE Admin to manage MQ Queue Managers, Channels, and Queues, and implement changes per application needs.

The role covers MQ installations/upgrades, clustering, load balancing, and ensuring secure MQ operations with Bash/Perl automation. You\'ll provide 24/7 on-call production support and work with development teams to test and deploy changes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Jenkins, Chef, Git, and XLR in production environments.
• On-call production support experience.
• Scripting in Bash and Perl for WMQ automation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Create MQ Queue Managers, Channels, and Queues according to app requirements.
• Installations and upgrades of MQ software, clustering, load balancing, and monitoring queue status.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support in production and collaborate with development teams.
• Prepare Change Plans and deliver RCA for critical business issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure expected system behavior and proactive monitoring.

Job description

• MQ/ACE Admin daily activities include but not limited to Creating the MQ Queue Managers, Channels, Queues, Increasing the Channels, Configuring MQ Triggers...Etc.… based on the Application requirement.
• MQ/ACE Installations/Upgrades, MQ Clustering, Load balancing, Queue Status, Type of Channel Status.
• Experience with Jenkins pipeline, IBM Chef deployments, git, XLR,
• Provided 24/7 on call support in production environment.
• Working with IBM on the PMRs.
• Supporting & Assisting the Development/Application Teams in their Testing in all the environments till they successfully go into Production.
• Prepare and implement the Change Plans and providing the RCA for problems, which are critical to business.
• Experience in BASH, Perl scripting for WMQ, automatic start/stop for channels, trigger monitors, Listeners, Channel Status, and MQ Security.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• Ability to balance doing things right with fixing things quickly. Flexible and pragmatic, while working towards improving the long-term health of the system.
• Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that expected system behavior is understood, and monitoring exists to detect anomalies.
