Job summary

Infoplus Technologies IE Ltd in Ireland seeks an MQ/ACE Administrator to manage IBM MQ environments, creating queue managers, channels, queues and triggers, and performing installations, upgrades, clustering and load balancing. You will work with Jenkins pipelines and IBM Chef deployments, providing 24/7 on-call support.

Collaboration with development teams ensures reliable messaging and rapid RCA-based fixes in production.

Qualifications

• Experience in MQ/ACE administration and support in production environments.
• Proficient in building MQ objects: queue managers, channels, queues, and triggers.
• Experience with MQ installations/upgrades, clustering, and load balancing.
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines and DevOps deployments.
• Strong scripting skills in BASH and Perl.
• Ability to provide 24/7 on-call production support and RCA analysis.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and documenting changes.

Responsibilities

• Create MQ Queue Managers, Channels, and Queues as required by applications.
• Configure MQ Triggers and manage channel status and queue status.
• Perform MQ installations/upgrades and clustering; apply load balancing.
• Support development and testing environments; ensure production readiness.
• Prepare and implement Change Plans and provide RCA for critical issues.

JD :: MQ/ACE Admin daily activities include but not limited to Creating the MQ Queue Managers, Channels, Queues, Increasing the Channels, Configuring MQ Triggers...Etc. based on the Application requirement. MQ/ACE Installations/Upgrades, MQ Clustering, Load balancing, Queue Status, Type of Channel Status. Experience with Jenkins pipeline, IBM Chef deployments, git, XLR, Provided 24/7 on call support in production environment. Working with IBM on the PMRs. Supporting & Assisting the Development/Application Teams in their Testing in all the environments till they successfully go into Production. Prepare and implement the Change Plans and providing the RCA for problems, which are critical to business. Experience in BASH, Perl scripting for WMQ, automatic start/stop for channels, trigger monitors, Listeners, Channel Status, and MQ Security. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Ability to balance doing things right with fixing things quickly. Flexible and pragmatic, while working towards improving the long-term health of the system. Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that expected system behavior is understood, and monitoring exists to detect anomalies. TPBN1_IJ
